The Slaughterhouse 5

RR: "The lead guitarist of the Magnificent Severn was the manager of a pub in Calne called The Butchers Arms. This was located near the site of the old Harris' slaughterhouse and we gathered there to rehearse and form a new band (which was the Severn lineup minus two members). Soon we were out gigging and calling ourselves The Slaughterhouse Five (brilliant novel as well, by the way, L.). Eventually our loud rehearsals and constant all-night partying lost our guitarist his managerial job at the pub and so not only did we lose our guitarist but our free rehearsal room and centre of operations as well. The band folded after a gig-packed few months and I was quite content to return to drinking steadily at home".
