Magic Muscle #3

RR: "In 1975, in the middle of trying to get a record deal there was a Magic Muscle reunion (on April 10th, at the Dockyard Settlement in Bristol, L.), which was the original line-up basically: Kenny Wheeler on drums, Pete Biles on Congas, Huw Gower on lead guitar, Adrian Shaw on bass, myself on vocals, special guest Pete Thorpe who got up halfway through and did some co-vocals. It was called "A Night for the Old Campaigners" and I think you've probably seen one of the posters (notably on the back of "The Pipe, The Roar & The Grid", L.). Every single poster for that event was different, you know, same design but all different colours, no two the same. It was an extraordinary event, you had a free hash cookie at the door and it was one hell of a night. We hadn't played together since /972 and here we were three years later; we just got up with no rehearsals and played for three hours. Alehouse drummer McCondach attended & (not realising the cakes contained hash) pinged out on them & missed the whole set due to a state of near coma."
