| "Linda
was born on 27th September 1950 in the Docklands area of London's East
End. From a very early age she followed acting classes and had a number
of cameo appearances in various British movies. leaving convent school,
she started singing with John Lee Hooker and later Herbie Goins And The
Night-timers (I guess that's where she got to know Andy Rickell, because
he also played with them). She got her first recording contract at
fifteen and tried to look as grown-up as possible on stage by wearing
high heels and long dresses (there's some nice shots of her in the
Glatonbury Fayre movie, singing with Terry Reid; she actually had
problems reaching the microphone, being as they say rather
'petite')."
